In Wednesday's non-league test, the host Northfield Mount Hermon Hoggers lacrosse squad scored a good 16-2 victory over the Winchendon Wapiti.
The Hoggers now have a 4-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host Phillips Exeter Academy for a non-league match on Saturday, May 10.
The Wapiti (0-1) will now prepare for their match against Concord Academy (Concord, MA). The go into the non-league match with a 0-0 record.
Coming off a win on Saturday, the Hoggers looked to win back to back games for the second time this season when they took on the Wapiti from Winchendon School. Despite amassing eight and a half minutes in penalties, NMH established an early 6-0 lead and never looked back, as the Hoggers cruised to a convincing 16-2 victory on home turf.
Leading the way offensively for NMH was co-captain Jordan Dow '14 (Sudbury, MA) with 4 goals and 3 assists. James Gittzus '16 (Canaan, NY) added 3 goals, while Luke Leyden '14 (Northfield, MA) contributed 2 goals and 2 assists. Paul Butler '14 (Toronto, Canada) netted 2 goals, while five other Hoggers scored one goal apiece. On the defensive end, Johnny Arena '14 (Mount Hermon, MA) picked up the victory in net in his first career start, making 3 saves, while allowing just 2 goals against.
