The Crete Cardinals smashed the host Seward Bluejays soccer squad by a margin of 4-0 in Thursday's league match.
The Cardinals now sport a 4-1 record. They play next when they host Schuyler for a non-league match on Tuesday, April 3. Crete will encounter a Warriors squad coming off a 6-0 non-league win over Bennington (Bennington, NE). The Warriors record now stands at 6-0.
With the loss, Seward drops to 0-5 on the season. The Bluejays host Schuyler (Schuyler, NE) to encounter the Warriors in a non-league match on Thursday, April 5. The Warriors come into the match with a record of 6-0.
Crete travelled to Seward to face the bluejays in Thursdays Class B Matchup. Crete came out just 2 minutes into the game and put in the first goal. Harrinson Vicente tallied the goal off of a ball that he received and then dribbled past the defender to slot it into the net. Just 4 minutes later Crete scored the second goal of the game off of a corner kick delivered by Alexis Carbajal to a waiting Alexis Pineda who headed it in the goal. Crete's third goal of the game came off of an assist from Carbajal who crossed it in to a waiting Juan Diego Lopez who trapped the ball and then slotted it past the Seward keeper. The half ended 3-0 with Crete ahead. The second half started much like the first with Crete scoring just one minute into the game when Hamilson Vicente passed the ball to Jose Tovar who placed the ball just past the Seward keeper. The game ended with a 4-0 score and Crete winning. Crete hosts Schuyler next Tuesday.
