The crowd at Tuesday's league match between the Cherokee Chiefs (Rogersville, TN) and the visiting Cocke County Fighting Cocks (Newport, TN), saw Cherokee's softball squad nip Cocke County by a count of 3-2.

The Chiefs now sport a 5-2 record. They take the field next when they host Seymour for a AAA District 2 match on Thursday, April 19. Cherokee will face a Eagles squad coming off a 11-0 league win over Sevier County (Sevierville, TN). The Eagles record now stands at 27-4.

With the loss, Cocke County falls to 4-12 on the campaign. The Fighting cocks host South-Doyle (Knoxville, TN) to face the Cherokees in a AAA District 2 match on Wednesday, April 18. The Cherokees enter the match with a record of 0-7. South-Doyle lost 4-2 in their recent league match against Jefferson County (Dandridge, TN)
