The Chapel Hill Tigers (Chapel Hill, NC) volleyball nudged the visiting Riverside Pirates (Durham, NC), 3-2 in Monday's non-league outing.
With the win, Chapel Hill betters its record to 16-2 on the year. The Tigers travel to Northern Vance (Henderson, NC) to face the Vikings in a 3A Carolina outing on Tuesday, October 4. The Vikings go into the outing with a record of 3-4. Northern Vance lost 3-0 in their recent league outing against Orange (Hillsborough, NC)
The Pirates now sport a 17-2 record. They play next when they host Northern for a 4A PAC 6 outing on Tuesday, October 4. Riverside will face a Knights squad coming off a 3-0 league loss to Jordan (Durham, NC). The Knights record now stands at 5-12.
The Lady Pirates played a very physical match against the Chapel Hill Tigers. The Tigers won the match 3-2. Kira Speer led the Pirates with a career high 30 kills to go along with 22 digs, 2 blocks and 1 ace. Olivia Williams added 20 kills, 22 digs, 1 block and 1 ace. The Pirates was aided by a career high 14 blocks from BriAnna Berry. Marissa Mayfield contributed 5 kills, 2 blocks and 2 digs. Madeline McCallie led the Pirates offense with 59 assists and 4 digs. The Pirates defense was led by Casey Speer 25 digs and Victoria Pearce added 6 digs. The Pirates will play at home tomorrow against the Northern Knights.
