Massachusetts High School Volleyball - Plymouth South over FalmouthOctober 12, 2011: Plymouth, MA 02360
Spectators at Wednesday's league game between the Plymouth South Panthers (Plymouth, MA) and the visiting Falmouth Clippers (Falmouth, MA), witnessed Plymouth South's volleyball team overcome Falmouth by a score of 3-1.
The Panthers now have a 7-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Plymouth North for a Atlantic Coast game on Friday, October 14. Plymouth South will confront a Eagles team coming off a 3-0 league loss to Nauset Regional (North Eastham, MA). The Eagles record now stands at 1-8.
The Clippers (4-9) will now prepare for their game against Dennis-Yarmouth Regional (South Yarmouth, MA). The Dolphins enter the Atlantic Coast game with a 10-3 record. In their last game, Dennis-Yarmouth Regional gained a win over Marshfield (Marshfield, MA), 3-2, in a league game.
Falmouth played a great match. This night should have been ours to take the win home, but critical errors, especially at the service line, gave the match away to Plymouth South. It also ended bitterly with a poor call from the referee at game point. The serve was clearly out, but was judged in. Elizabeth Knox played her best this night having nursed a hurt shoulder back to full strength hitting 15 kills out of 18 attempts while pulling out 13 digs on defense in the back row.
