Loudoun County battled back after losing their first set of the season to defeat Heritage Thursday night as they welcomed the Pride back to the Dulles District by handing them their first loss off the season. The Raiders extended their match winning streak to 27 with a 3-1 (25-14, 11-25, 25-13, 25-19) victory over Heritage. The Lady Raiders were led by Katrina Kirby (12 kills, 4 points, 2 blocks), Maggie Phillips (11 kills, 1 block, 1 dig), Taylor Huewe (9 kills, 2 blocks, 2 digs), Jenna Strange (8 kills, 9 digs, 7 points, 3 assists, 1 ace), Nicole Orndorff (4 kills, 5 points, 4 digs), Quinn O'Connell (4 kills, 1 assist, 1 dig), Jordan Leiter (25 assists, 15 points, 3 kills, 3 aces), Megan Fox (15 assists, 2 points, 1 dig, 1 kill), Gabby Serafin (18 digs), Kelsey Slack (7 points, 6 digs, 1 ace). The Raiders improved to 3-0 on the season and 3-0 in the dulles district.
The JV Raiders swept the Pride 2-0 (25-14, 25-16), while the Freshmen also cruised to a victory 2-0 (25-17, 25-19).
Virginia High School Volleyball - Heritage Loudoun County
(September 1, 2011: Leesburg, VA 22075) The Loudoun County Raiders topped the visiting Heritage Pride volleyball team by a score of 3-1 in Thursday's league test.
The Raiders now have a 3-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host Freedom for a non-league test on Tuesday, September 6. Loudoun County will confront a Eagles team coming off a 3-0 non-league loss to Stone Bridge (Ashburn, VA). The Eagles record now stands at 5-1.
The Pride (1-1) will now prepare for their test against Dominion (Sterling, VA). The Titans enter the AA Dulles test with a 0-4 record. In their last test, Dominion was knocked off by Loudoun Valley (Purcellville, VA), 3-1, in a league test.
