In Monday's league battle, the visiting Loudoun County Raiders volleyball team scored a tight 3-2 triumph over the Loudoun Valley Vikings.
The Raiders (14-1) will now prepare for their battle against Coalfield (Coalfield, TN). The Yellowjackets come into the non-league battle with a 3-2 record.
Next, the Vikings clash with the Dominion Titans (Sterling, VA) in a AA Dulles battle, on Wednesday, October 5. Loudoun Valley will attempt to advance on its 9-7 season record. The Titans come into the battle with a 5-10 record after their 3-0 league loss to Potomac Falls (Sterling, VA).
Loudoun County found themselves in unfamiliar territory with Loudoun Valley serving match point in the 4th set. Loudoun County rallied back in the 4th set and managed to pull out their 2nd 5-set win in 3 days with scores of 24-26, 25-18, 16-25, 28-26, 15-11. The Raiders were led by Katrina Kirby (22 kills, 10 digs, 9 points, 2 blocks, 1 ace), Taylor Huewe (12 kills, 5 blocks), Maggie Phillips (12 kills, 9 points, 2 aces, 4 digs), Jenna Strange (10 kills, 12 digs, 9 points, 1 block, 1 ace), Megan Fox (8 kills, 11 digs, 7 points, 7 assists), Jordan Leiter (52 assists, 8 points, 6 digs, 2 blocks, 2 aces, 1 kill), Gabby Serafin (23 digs), Kelsey Slack (7 digs, 5 points, 2 kills, 2 assists), Kelsey Anderson (7 points, 2 digs). They improve their record to 14-1 (10-0) on the season
