Tonight we faced Slinger for the second time in the season. The girls have been struggling to find the knitch that works for them to compete and after we started the match tonight we knew it was going to be a good one. Once again we are injury bound, but this time is was our junior starting setter Natalie Jaeger who is out due to a concussion received in the last match against Wisconsin Lutheran. There were nerves with the new lineup but you wouldn't have been able to tell that based upon the level of play the girls came out with.
Sophomore Brittany Derynda stepped up into the role of our setter and she did a phenomonal job! The intensity she played with and the instincts she had allowed her to lead this team even as an underclassman. She had 37 assists on the night and tied with Elle Gall with 3 aces a piece.
Other highlighted players included Brianne McGuire with 17 kills, Sara Nicholson with 27 digs and Renate Meckl with 4 blocks (1 solo and 3 assisted)
