  • Clayton Valley takes control after defeating College Park 1-0|View Attachment|Posted on: 2/5/2010
Even though there will be two more league games to finish out the season both teams knew that this game most likely would determine who would be the league champions. Wind and rain were going to be the weather for this game. The 1st half was played very defensively as both teams did not want to give up that first goal and then have to play catch up. The Eagles were able to get more shots on goal in the 1st half putting a lot of pressure on the Falcons but with nothing to show on the score board. In the 2nd half The Falcons came out aggressive, and with the wind at their back returned the pressure on the Eagles, but the back line along with goalie Morgan Nichols controlled all threats. At the 65:00 minute of the game the Eagles Sue Antaki attacked the right side and was able to get down to the end line where she then curled a great low cross to Lindsey Parscal who knocked home the winning goal with the roar of the fans in the CV stands. The Eagles played tough defensively to close out the game and keep the Eagles unbeaten in league play.
  • Clayton Valley 3 - Concord 1|View Attachment|Posted on: 2/5/2010
The Eagles battled Concord on Tuesday and played a very controlled possession game against the Minute women. The Eagles took a lot of shots but a very quick sure handed goalie kept them at bay until the 7th minute when Kelsey Booth played a nice thru ball to Lindsey Parscal who placed a perfect shot for the 1st score of the game. At the 24th minute Sue Antaki scored with another assist going to Kelsey. The Eagles went into the half with a 2-0 lead. Coach Booth cleared his bench to get all players some work, then at the 56th minute Lindsey Parscal hit a running Antaki who was racing to the goal and placed it perfectly by The Concord goalie. Later in the game Concord hit a free kick in the box for the final score of the game. Next up for the undefeated Eagles is a big game against the College Park Falcons
