Bianca exploded for a career high 23 points at Northwest Cabarrus last Tuesday. She followed that up with another solid 8 point effort vs. Concord. She made 5 of 8 free throws and played tough on both ends of the court as she always does. Bianca is willing to do whatever it takes to help her teammates win.
Jennifer had a couple of huge games to help the Wonders to victory over Cox Mill and Mt. Pleasant. She collected 8 points and two 3 pointers against Cox Mill and then continued her hot shooting streak by adding a career high 11 points and three more 3s at Mt. Pleasant. Now if she could just make a free throw she would be dangerous.
Cham led the Wonders to two big victories last week by leading them in both scoring and field goal percentage. She was able to get out on the fast break and make good decisions with the ball to help both her and her teammates score.
Endia led the team in scoring by averaging 12.5 pts over two games last week. That production is nearly twice her yearly average. She also continued to be useful by playing multiple positions and working equally hard on both the offensive and defensive ends of the court. The team will need her continued production as they head into the second half of conference play.
Raven continued to work hard in the post by leading the team in rebounding and block shots while averaging 9 points this week. Her steady play helped lead the team to victory against Mt. Pleasant and kept them in contention against a tough Hickory Ridge squad.
Sara helped lead her team to three straight victories and the tournament championship in the CMC Northeast Holiday Classic. Sara scored 12 of the first 14 points on her way to 17 total while only playing about half of the game. She also led the team in assists for the tournament and I think she even made a few layups.
Endia came on strong with an 11 point performance before the holiday break at Cox Mill. Endia hit 5 of 7 free throws and aggressively attacked the basket to help lead her team to victory.
Megan stepped her game up this week and registered her first points of the year. She knocked down two big 3-pointers on Friday in the Wonders 41-31 victory at Central Cabarrus. Her efforts in practice are paying off leading to both team and individual success.
Aitana's aggressiveness and defense paid off as she moved into the starting lineup this week. She also posted a career high in points with 12 against Lexington on 12/8 and helped the team earn another victory against South Rowan Friday night.
Bianca battled hard in each game coming off the bench as the sixth man. She also continued to work hard and improve in practice throughout the week. She provided the team with toughness, rebounding and chipped in to help achieve balanced team scoring.
