Congratulations to Anthony Garza for being selected as Player of the Week. Anthony Garza was 3-for-12 with a walk and five runs scored at the plate and through 4 2/3 innings of relief in two games on the mound during a 3-game playoff series against Port Lavaca Calhoun. Congratulations to Joseph Gonzales for being selected as Player of the Year. On a team with four potential Division I prospects, Joseph Gonzales shined the brightest out of all the seniors in 2012. Not only did he win 11 games on the mound and struck out 136 batters, which ranked him first in the state according to MaxPreps.com, but he also led the team in extra base hits, OPS and slugging percentage, and hit just under .400.View Previous Selections
