Brendan Stewart rushed for 1023 yards on 104 carries (9.8 yards per carry) this season with 14 catches for 225 yards. He also had 391 return yards and scored 22 touchdowns with 19 rushing, 1 receiving and 2 returns. This follows a sophomore year when he had 1310 yards on the ground with 139 receiving yards and 22 touchdowns. Congratulations to Brendan Stewart for being selected as Player of the Year. Brendan Stewart rushed for 1023 yards on 104 carries (9.8 yards per carry) this season with 14 catches for 225 yards. He also had 391 return yards and scored 22 touchdowns with 18 rushing, 2 receiving and 2 returns. This follows a sophomore year when he had 1310 yards on the ground with 139 receiving yards and 22 touchdowns. He was second on the team in tackles with 63 tackles and led the team in solo tackles with 34 including 12 tackles for loss.
Stewart now has 2376 rushing yards and 444 receiving yards with 45 touchdowns in his career. He also has 448 return yards in his career.
Let me add a couple of points too. He gets those numbers in a balanced Carlinville offense where Cory Farneti rushed for over 900 yards on 107 carries and Blake Pingleton had 800 yards on 124 carries. His numbers in a different offense might be closer to 2000 with over 30 touchdowns. He also plays on a 2A team that plays a 3A/4A schedule.
