  23. Player of the Year - Matt Harris

Congratulations to #22 Matt Harris who was selected as the Player of the Year.

Harris, a 6'-2" guard concluded a stellar career at Cathedral Prep with a brilliant senior season by scoring 470 points in 23 games for a 20.4 scoring average -- the fourth highest average in Prep history. His scoring accomplishments throughout the season were many, but the 78 points he scored in back-to-back games against Erie Central (38 points) and Toronto Pope John Paul (40 points) achieved a two-game total that may never be broken. His 40 point afternoon in Toronto tied for the third highest single game scoring total by a player in Rambler history. Harris also led Prep in several other areas including rebounding (104), foul shooting (.837), charges taken (10), and scored in double figures in 22 of 23 games. He also led the Ramblers in individual game scoring 19 times. Harris finished with 1,086 points in his varsity career at Cathedral Prep -- 8th highest on the school's all-time list. Over his four seasons the Ramblers compiled a record of 73 wins and just 27 losses. ... Read more

  24. Player of the Game: Cathedral Prep vs. McDowell

    Played on 2/25/2014 7:30 PM

Congratulations to #22 Matt Harris for being selected as the Player of the Game.

Harris concluded his basketball career at Cathedral Prep with a game-high 25 points in a loss to arch rival McDowell in the District Ten Championship game. The senior guard did drain 5 field goals from beyond the arc, and was a perfect 10-for-10 from the foul line. He added 3 rebounds, an assist, and drew a charge to round out his evening. Harris overcame a poor shooting night by exploding for 15 points in the final quarter as the Ramblers cut a 20-point deficit in half (57-47), but it wasn't enough as the Trojans finally defeated Prep after eleven consecutive losses to the Orange & Black entering the game. His 25 points gave him 1,086 in his career as a Rambler, good for eighth place on Prep's all-time scoring list. This was the ninth time this season that Harris earned the Max Preps Player-of-the-Game honor. ... Read more
