Going into their most recent match, Pacifica softball had won 20 straight games dating back to early March and had amassed a perfect record in League. But they had one more regular season game to play at Cypress High School last Thursday and as Garden Grove TV3 reporter Christian Hartnett reports the Centurions gave them quite a battle.Play Video

Congratulations to Nate Thomas for being selected as the Frosh Baseball Player of the Week. Congrat to Nate Thomas. Nate bats 5th in the line up and plays 1st base...literally the entire year. Was 5 for 7 this week with 4 rbi's and 4 runs scored. 100% fielding percentage.

Pitched 7 innings in final game vs Pacifica. 3 runs allowed against a very talented Mariner team. Secured perfect 10-0 league record. 84 pitches, most dominate performanance of the year for the young Centurions. Congrats to Mike!!!

Congratulations to Allie Wood for being selected as the Varsity Softball Player of the Week. In the Empire League:
Cypress 1, Pacifica 0: Mariners ace Kaylee Carlson had a perfect game going until she gave up a one-out triple to Allie Wood in the bottom of the seventh. Pacifica intentionally walked Ashley Ross and Inessa Lopez to load the bases and Ariel Braxton delivered a single to drive in the winning run to give Cypress the upset over Pacifica.
Madi Dove went six innings, allowing three hits, two walks and she struck out one and Ross pitched a scoreless seventh inning to combine on the shutout for Cypress.
Pacifica (26-2, 11-1), ranked No. 1 in the county, No. 1 in the state by Cal-Hi Sports and No. 1 in the nation by ESPN, Cypress (16-8, 8-4) finished third place in the strong Div 1 Empire league. A great team Win for the lady Centurions. Ready to make there run in the CIFSS playoffs !!!
