Congratulations to Sam Myers for being selected as Player of the Week. Samantha Myers played very well on defense during the Grizzlies CIF Quarter-Final loss to Bella Vista. Under heavy pressure, she constantly cut off attackers, blocked shots and cleared balls from dangerous areas of the field. As the team tried to push forward to tie the game in second half, she was often left one on one in the middle of defense and did not concede a single shot on goal to her mark. She was instrumental in helping the ball move forward so the Grizzlies could mount attack after attack on the BV goal. Unfortunately, the Grizzlies couldn't convert and the season came to an end. Sam has been a vital part of the Grizzlies starting lineup all season. Congratulations Sam. Good job!View Previous Selections

Posted: Tue, May 15 2012 Congratulations to Kayla Karlsson for being selected as Player of the Week. There was only one game this week and the Grizzlies had to win to advance to the playoffs. After a dismal first half performance that saw the Grizzlies go down 2-0 to visiting Roseville, the Grizzlies turned it on for the final 40 minutes to win the game in a real thriller. Kayla Karlsson provided some passionate words at half and continued to drive her team on from the back line while Julia Beck, Avery Hutchinson and Sarah Giddings added goals for the Grizzlies. It was a tremendous team effort in the end that launched the Grizzlies into the postseason but there was no doubt that senior captain and central defender Kayla Karlsson led the way. Congratulations on a great effort and tremendous regular season Grizzlies. You have been through a lot and found a way to get the job done together.View Previous Selections

Posted: Wed, May 02 2012 Congratulations to Ashley Sweeting for being selected as Player of the Week. Ashley and her defensive partners combined for two great games this weak against league leaders Del Oro (1-1 tie) and Rocklin (1-0 win). Ashley provided great defensive support by constantly breaking up opponent attacks and helping start the Grizzly offense by making blazing runs down the flank and providing good entry passes into the offensive third of the field. Her positive attitude, work ethic on and off the field and lead by example style make her this week's player of the week that saw many Grizzlies play very well.View Previous Selections

In a week where only 2 or 3 subs were available, she played wherever and whenever the coach asked with top effort, intelligent passes and a positive attitude. Sarah is playing well for the team and is leading by example on the field.
