Congratulations to Tony Miller for being selected as Player of the Week. Congratulations to Tony Miller for being selected as Player of the Week. Tony Miller capped off his senior season by scoring 3 touchdowns in Gretna's 21-16 victory over Goochland in the 2011 Virginia Group A Division 2 championship. Tony had 42 yards on 11 carries with 2 touchdowns plus he had 4 receptions for 60 yards and one touchdown. He also played a standout game at linebacker.View Previous Selections

Congratulations to Tony Miller for being selected as Player of the Year. Tony Miller was the all-around leader on the Gretna Hawks 2011 State Championship Football Team> He has been recognized as first team offense and defense for the both the Dogwood District and Region B. He should receive all state honors as well. This year Tony rushed for 992 yards on 151 carries. He had 37 receptions for 724 yards, giving him 1716 all purpose yards. He scored 168 points on 20 TD rushing, 6 TD receiving and two defensive touchdowns. On defense Tony 92 tackles and 35 assists for a total of 127. He had 5 interceptions and 3 fumble recoveries.View Previous Selections

Kevin Moorman had an fine overall game in leading Gretna to a 20-12 victory over Amelia in the state semifinal game. Gretna advances to the Group AA Division 2 championship game on December 10 in Salem, Virginia. Kevin had 27 yards on 7 carries including a tough 14 yard run for a first down late in the 4th quarter.
