Early on, Alon took a nasty hit to his thigh that instantly swelled, and yet he played through the pain the entire 80min versus Bishop. He was in obvious discomfort but played with inspiration and lead the Jaguars to multiple goal scoring opportunities, unfortunately they were unable to find the back of the net. Congratulations to Michael Burstein for being selected as Player of the Year. Senior Michael Burstein has earned himself Player of the Year honors based on his consistent play and leadership. He commands the defense and contributes to the Jaguars attack game in and game out. He is always calm and composed and makes great decisions when he has the ball. Earning his 1st Player of the Week honors, Eli Glancy, scored 2 goals, 1 in stoppage time, to lift the Jaguars to 3-2 win and lock up 2nd place of te Liberty League. Captain and game MVP Mark Gero lead by example with his ball distribution, tenacious challenges and "Fight or Die" attitude by holding down the central midfield. He may not have scored or had an assist, but his tireless work-rate at both ends of the pitch, laying his body on the line to save a counter-attack, running from the attacking 3rd all the way back to clear the ball in the defensive 3rd earned him the MVP and Player of the Week.
