Congratulations to Taylor Sterling for being selected as the Varsity Softball Player of the Week. Taylor has had a lot of expectations and pressured placed on her this season. As the only returning pitcher, she has been asked to do a lot. She has worked hard at her game and even started learning how to bat left handed. She is a threat from either side of the plate and her speed is an asset on the bases. She is a consistent pitcher and a great outfielder.View Previous Selections
Posted: Tue, May 22 2012 Congratulations to Hannah Bowardi for being selected as the Varsity Softball Player of the Week. Hannah made a return to softball in her senior year after giving tennis a try during her junior year. She was a little rusty, but now she is back to her true form. She was 3 for 4 with an RBI and 3 runs scored against Carmen-Ainsworth. She played a solid defensive game. She has managed to balance work, softball, volunteer work, and preparing for her graduation making them all work in perfect harmony. View Previous Selections
Posted: Tue, May 22 2012 Congratulations to Morgan Zloto for being selected as the Varsity Softball Player of the Week. Morgan is a sophomore that has been a huge asset to the varsity program with her pitching. She threw a 2 hitter against Flushing on 5/21 and added a double at bat. She is heavily involved in volunteering her time to help other programs, players, and future students also. Another great role model of what it means to be an athlete at Powers Catholic.
