Congratulations to Jake Mauldin for being selected as Player of the Year. Jake was a leader on and off the field for the Cherokees during the spring of 2012. The PAL Ocean Division Pitcher of the year, Mauldin was 4-2 with one save and an 0.93 ERA while striking out 80 in 52.2 innings. Mauldin also hit .386, knocked in 12 runs, scored 22 times and swiped 12 bags. In his non-starts, Mauldin was one of the top defensive outfielders in the PAL, patrolling centerfield recording three assists without committing a single error. Mauldin will attend Sonoma State University in the fall.View Previous Selections
