Congratulations to Jake Darrow for being selected as Player of the Year. Jake Darrow is the real deal. Jake lead the team in the following categories: Bat Av. .549, OBP. .617, Slugging .843, Stolen Bases 24 out of 24 attempts.
Due to an unfortunate clerical error, his name was tragically deleted from the all conference, MVP and 1st team lists. We believe strongly he would have won MVP and easily would have been selected on the 1st team and all conference.
As a high school and American Legion coach, I believe Jake Darrow is one of very few Alaskan players that truly has the skill set, baseball intelligence and character to play college ball.
We his coaches apologies again to Jake and his family for the mysterious way his name was removed from our all conference MVP list. We know he will continue to be a top performer in both his academics and athletics. View Previous Selections
