Congratulations to Nells Meighan for being selected as the Varsity Volleyball Player of the Year. Nells is a Senior at SCA and a captain on the volleyball team. She is a vital part of why we have made it to the Area Round of the playoffs for the past 2 years.
This season, Nells had 435 kills for 3.8 k/g, 48 aces, 87.1% serving percentage, 103 total blocks, 398 digs, and 30 assists.
Over the past 2 years (which are the only seasons that stats were kept) she's had 640 kills for 3.1 k/g, 76 aces, 86.5% serving average, 151 blocks, 490 digs and 36 assists.
We are going to miss Nells greatly but we know that she has laid a great foundation for the younger Lady Eagles to build upon.

Congratulations to Melissa Giles for being selected as the Girls Varsity Basketball Player of the Year. Melissa was our senior captain this season. She was a leader on and off the court and carried the majority of the team's responsibility on her shoulders. Congratulations to Blaine Bowman for being selected as the Varsity Football Player of the Week. Blaine has been voted the Team Player of the Week after last Friday's performance. Blaine was called to play running back after starting RB, Jonathan Andrews went down with a lower back injury and the SR WR answered with a 6 carry 105 yard rushing performance which included a 55 yard TD scamper that help push SCA to victory. Bowman also had 4 receptions for 52 yards and 5 kickoff returns for 96 yards. View Previous Selections

Posted: Thu, Sep 09 2010 Congratulations to Hannah Snyder for being selected as the Varsity Volleyball Player of the Week. Hannah Snyder is a Junior at SCA. She played tough in this week's matches and played exceptionally well at the Brentwood tournament this weekend. She even played the last game with a hand injury. She played through the pain and finished out the tournament very well.
