The player of the week for the last week of the season is James Stephenson. james did a great job forus all tear with his hustle and defense prowress! He has done a great job and actuall got better this week with his defensive play. He play hard each night and really got better this week with his footwork and defensing with his hands properly. His effort was great even in a losing effort each night.
Luke Hudson has been selected as player of the week because he has shown tremendous inprovement in his overall play this week. He has gotten to the FT quite a bit this week ans in one game hit an astounding 85%. His development came to lite this week in his low post play especially in the JV games! He has done also done a good job in the Varsity gms! I can tell that he has become more comfortable on the court and is starting to make his presence on the boards, offensively & defensively. He had his career high of 13 pts this week also! he is willing to learnand eager to learn. He is only a 9th grader at that!
Ty has been selected as player of the week because of his growth and maturity that he has shown in playing the point and the 2 gaurd postion for not only the Varsity , but the JV as well. He has really beeen on fire of late from the 3-pt range and has reall developed major confidence in his ability to make that shot. he is really starting to play better all-around and is getting more confident and competive in his own right! "THE LIGHT HAS COME ON" for him at the HS school level and it is starting to show! CONGRATS T-BONE!
Emory has really come into his own and knows and understands his rols on the team very well. He has accepted that role and gets the most out of it because of his high basketball IQ. He had a team, and career high of 28 pts in playing his role tyo the hilt against TCA! He feel comfortable and confident in that role thus earning him a strating position in doing so!
J.G has done a great job in accepting his role as a scorer on this team. He has really started to mature into that role and understand how to get better each game aand each nite! He had a season high 26 ps in our1st ever divisional win against Smithville tolead us. He came bac with a good game of 15 pts against a very strong Houla team! KUDOS to J.G.!
He was chosen as the player of the week because the fact that he has come into his own as an offensive player. You can tell that his confidence on the offensive is clearly being dipslayed in his improved play on the offensive end. He is very talrnted and is very capable of becoming that type of player for us in every game ...we really need for him to be that for us!
I have to give the nod for player of the week to Chase Camp because of his return to the role of the player that we had been tring to get him to be all year. He has struggled plaing on the perimeter because of his ball-handling skills. We put him back inside dn on the post. He wenrt back to what he was really good at and that was been a very good rebounder for us and tenacious on the board both offensively and defensively
Gavin"G-Baby" Spradling has done a great job in maturing into his role as a point gouard. He has come a long way since his on-the- job training of last year and the 1st few games this year. He is doing a much better job of taking care of the ball on the dribble. He still has to improve his passing decisions. He had his career high points of 12 pts scoring on the three and taking it to the basket with confidence which has taken him a year and half to accomplish!
Austin has done a GREAT job in accepting his role for the team. he has worked extremely hard during the off-season, pre-season, in practoce and especially in the games. His hard work id starting to pay off and his dedication to getting better everyday. He has played with within himself, improved his shot and shown GREAT senior leadership! he has his best game of his career last night against Vardaman
J.G.Lipcomb did a great job this week of taking on a more active role of sbecoming a scorer on the court. This is the type of player that he is going to ned to become for us, not only this year , but for the next 2 yrs. it was good to see him come out of his shell and asssume that identity. We will always need that from him and we especially need that now.The fact that he realized that and took that upon himself attributes to his continue maturation on the court.
Tucker has done a great job with his energy level and his passion for the game. he plays with no fear and feels that he can compete with anyone that he goes up against. He has been out most consistent scorer. He
