Congratulations to JEREMY PEARSON for being selected as Player of the Week. Despite not making it past Rochelle in the IHSA Class 5A Playoffs (they lost 41-43), the Lions had their chances thanks to the play of Mr. Pearson who connected on 12 of 20 passes for 238 yards which resulted in 4 passing touchdowns. He also had his running shoes on, as he had 18 rushing attempts for 107 yards rushing and reached the end zone 1 time as well.View Previous Selections

Mr. Williams was responsible for pulling his teammates over the top for an OT victory versus DuSable despite being down most of the game 14-7. On perhaps the worst field conditions in the city of Chicago, Mr. Williams still managed to score 2 rushing touchdowns on 13 attempts, running for 192 yards.View Previous Selections

Posted: Sat, Oct 01 2011 Congratulations to WILLIE POWELL for being selected as Player of the Week. As leader/captain of the Lion's offensive line, Mr. Powell, along with his "band of brothers" on the O-Line, was named Player(s) of the Week.
After a successful week versus Kelly the week before, the offensive line for the Urban Prep-Englewood squad was responsible for helping to produce over 400 yards of offense against Douglass as well; making it 2 consecutive weeks of over 400 yards of offensive production.
