Congratulations to Megan Hughes for being selected as the Varsity Softball Player of the Year. Megan Hughes was selected as the Lady Honkers player of the year. Hughes finished the season with a .410 batting average, 19 RBI's in the lead-off posistion, and led the league in stolen bases with 25. Hughes also showed some power with 8 doubles and 2 triples. Hughes only struck out 3 times in 105 plate appearances and finished the season with a .530 slugging percentage. Hughes was also honored at the SVL all-league meeting as the CO-MVP of the league. Hughes stepped up as a leader this year and will be looked to next year as the Honkers hope to compete again for a league championship. Congratulations to Courtney Dicharry for being selected as the Varsity Softball Player of the Week. Courtney Dicharry has led the team all year in RBI's and has become a solid catcher. Dicharry took on the role of catcher when her team needed her. She is really a first basemen and will be successful at the college level at this position.
