Congratulations to Octavio Perez for being selected as Player of the Year. With 14 goals and 7 assists, Octavio was the most dangerous and feared striker in the PAL and earned the Player of the Year distinction from the League and was twice Player of the Week. Congratulations, Octavio!View Previous Selections

Congratulations to Octavio Perez for being selected as Player of the Week. Octavio got the job done twice in the Wildcats first round match over Los Altos, scoring twice.
While we came up short in our contest vs St. Francis, Octavio did have some good shots and generated our best chances.
Sadly, the team finishes it's season in the quarter finals, but has much to thank for all the players on it's roster for the incredible season.

Congratulations to Brian Lopez for being selected as Player of the Week. Woodside's Goalkeeping triumvirate for 2011-2012 allowed less than half as many goals as the team scored. The goalies kept us in many matches, despite heaping loads of pressure when our attack was struggling. The goal keepers collectively limited our opposition to 2 goals or less in 18 out of 20 contests. Brian Lopez, Octavio Hernandez and Juan Mendoza have all played important roles this season so far and all deserve credit and acknowledgement.
That said, Brian Lopez has been a leader throughout the season, guiding, mentoring, leading warm-ups and helping to motivate the goalies. Brian has also played an active role assisting the Coaches with set-up, break down and whatever else needed to be done.
Brian has a positive attitude, is attentive, absorbs information and can later share it back which shows good comprehension. These skills translate well from the field of play into life.
Last night, in a full-team effort, last regular season home game win over Sequoia (3-1), Brian's light shined bright as ever.
He led, communicated, maintained composure and even stopped a penalty kick!
All our goalies are commended for their seasons so far and I'm eager to see them compete in CCS. But for this week, Brian Lopez is our Player of the Week!
Congratulations, Brian!

Congratulations to Abelardo Gurrola for being selected as Player of the Week. In our week of games vs Half Moon Bay and Carlmont, the team supported Juan Carlos while he dealt with the news of sick family member. He played with heart and conviction, and in our match versus Carlmont, scored a decisive and euphoric goal.I would also like to recognize Michael Linares for his inspired play and maturity on and off the field. As we wind up the regular season, effort, a positive attitude and perseverance all have played a role and these two young men have been role models.Congratulations to Juan Carlos and Michael.View Previous Selections

Congratulations to Salvador Godinez for being selected as Player of the Week. Congratulations to Salvador Godinez for being selected as Player of the Week. Chavita, as he is known by his friends and family, has been a stalwart presence on the team all year.
Although this week's games did not turn out successful on the scoreboard, the tie vs. league-leading M-A and our unfortunate second loss to San Mateo were not without the presence of effort, notably, from Chavita, who, like last year on F/S has mustered the energy each week to lift the Wildcats a little higher than they would have been without him.
Chavita's poise, ball control and excellent decision making in the midfield have helped keep the team moving forward. Chavita's positive attitude and endless tank of energy set a standard for effort and personal contribution.
Please join me in congratulating Chavita as player of the week!View Previous Selections
