The Hidalgo Pirates basketball team scored 58 points and restricted the visiting Wharton Tigers to 55 in the Pirates non-league victory on Thursday.

The Pirates now sport a 2-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Canyon Lake for a non-league contest on Wednesday, December 27.

The Tigers (7-2) will now prepare for their contest against Palmview (La Joya, TX). The Lobos come into the non-league contest with a 0-5 record.
