North Carolina High School Basketball - Wilkes Central knocked off by Watauga

December 20, 2017: Boone, NC 28607

The Watauga Pioneers basketball team scored 58 points and held the visiting Wilkes Central Eagles to 43 in the Pioneers non-league triumph on Wednesday.

The Pioneers now sport a 6-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host McDowell for a Northwestern 3A/4A contest on Wednesday, January 3.

The Eagles (4-5) will now prepare for their contest against East Wilkes (Ronda, NC). The Cardinals enter the Mountain Valley 1A/2A contest with a 7-1 record. In their last contest, East Wilkes ran past Triad Baptist Christian Academy (Kernersville, NC), 61-27, in a non-league contest.
