Ohio High School Basketball - Ironton tops Macdonald Academy
February 1, 2013: Ironton, OH 45638 Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Ironton Fighting Tigers (Ironton, OH) and the visiting Macdonald Academy Cougars (Red Springs, NC), saw Ironton's basketball squad knock off Macdonald Academy by a tally of 52-37.
With the victory, Ironton improves its record to 14-2 on the campaign. The Fighting Tigers host Wheelersburg (Wheelersburg, OH) to play the Pirates in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, February 5. The Pirates come into the challenge with a record of 7-9. Wheelersburg lost 48-37 in their recent league challenge against Minford (Minford, OH)
Next up, the Cougars play the Huntington Prep Express (Huntington, WV) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, February 2. Macdonald Academy will attempt to improve on its 8-9 season record. The Express come into the challenge with a 23-2 record after their 68-21 non-league win over Oldsmar Christian (Oldsmar, FL).
