Newton Rams (Covington, GA) followers went home content Thursday as they observed their basketball team nudge the visiting Westlake Lions (Atlanta, GA), 89-83 in a non-league game.

In their next game, the Rams face the Tift County Blue Devils (Tifton, GA) in a non-league game, on Wednesday, March 1. Newton will attempt to move on its 28-1 season record. The Blue Devils enter the game with a 26-2 record after their 72-55 non-league win over Berkmar (Lilburn, GA).

With the defeat, Westlake moves to 18-11 on the year.
