The Northwest Rankin Cougars (Brandon, MS) baseball trounced the visiting Richland Rangers (Richland, MS), 14-3 in Saturday's non-league contest.

Coming up next, the Cougars play the Madison Central Jaguars (Madison, MS) in a 6A Region 3 contest, on Tuesday, April 1. Northwest Rankin will attempt to better on its 12-3 season record. The Jaguars come into the challenge with a 6-7 record after their 6-4 non-league win over Tupelo (Tupelo, MS).

With the defeat, Richland falls to 8-6 on the season. The Rangers travel to Magee (Magee, MS) to encounter the Trojans in a 4A Region 6 challenge on Tuesday, April 1.
