New Jersey High School Basketball - Ewing fells Randolph
December 26, 2011: Trenton, NJ 08618 Ewing Blue Devils (Trenton, NJ) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad overcome the visiting Randolph Rams (Randolph, NJ), 76-62 in a non-league game.
In their next game, the Blue Devils face the Trenton Central Tornadoes (Trenton, NJ) in a non-league game, on Tuesday, January 3. Ewing will attempt to move on its 3-0 season record. The Tornadoes enter the game with a 3-1 record after their 65-57 non-league loss to Math Civics & Sciences (Philadelphia, PA).
With the defeat, Randolph moves to 1-2 on the year. The Rams travel to Hunterdon Central (Flemington, NJ) to face the Red Devils in a non-league game on Wednesday, December 28. The Red Devils enter the game with a record of 1-2. Hunterdon Central lost 68-64 in their recent non-league game against Monroe Township (Monroe Township, NJ)
First Quarter
David Azoroh scored 6 ponts as Ewing jumped out to a 18-7 lead.
Second Quarter
Despite 11 Julian Aiken points, two Ron Valentine 3's and 7 points by Azoroh, helped Ewing jump to 41-24 halftime lead.
Third Quarter
The Rams started to rally and 7 points by Aiken and Ryan Harris, the Rams crept back into the game. Despite the run the Rams still trailed 58-45 after 3 periods.
Fourth Quarter
Two three's, by Harris and 7 Aiken points, allowed Randolph to get as close as 9, 71-62, the Blue Devils put the finishing touches on a 75-62, in the South Plainfield torunament.
Ron Valentine had 23 and David Azoroh had 22 points to lead Ewing. Julian Aiken led all scoroes with 27.
