February 14, 2012: Leonardtown, MD 20650 Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the St. Mary's Ryken (Leonardtown, MD) and the visiting Paul VI Panthers (Fairfax, VA), saw St. Mary's Ryken's basketball squad hold off Paul VI by a score of 59-53.
With the victory, St. Mary's Ryken improves its record to 15-9 on the campaign. The travel to Archbishop Carroll (Washington, DC) to battle the Lions in a Washington Catholic challenge on Friday, February 17. The Lions come into the challenge with a record of 15-11. Archbishop Carroll lost 100-81 in their recent league challenge against Our Lady of Good Counsel (Olney, MD)
Next up, the Panthers battle the St. John's Cadets (Washington, DC) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, February 17. Paul VI will attempt to improve on its 18-8 season record. The Cadets come into the challenge with a 19-7 record after their 69-66 non-league loss to Holy Cross Regional (Lynchburg, VA).
