California High School Basketball - Liberty Ranch tipped by Galt
January 24, 2013: Galt, CA 95632 In Thursday's league match, the host Galt Warriors basketball team scored a tight 46-45 triumph over the Liberty Ranch Hawks.
In their next game, the Warriors confront the Union Mine Diamondbacks (El Dorado, CA) in a Sierra Valley match, on Monday, January 28. Galt will attempt to move on its 5-17 season record. The Diamondbacks enter the match with a 17-5 record after their 50-36 league win over Cosumnes Oaks (Elk Grove, CA).
With the defeat, Liberty Ranch moves to 14-8 on the year. The Hawks travel to Union Mine (El Dorado, CA) to confront the Diamondbacks in a Sierra Valley match on Wednesday, January 30. The Diamondbacks enter the match with a record of 17-5.
Fourth Quarter
Shantanice Mendoza scored her 10th point of the game on the go-ahead free throw with three seconds left in the 4th quarter to give Galt a one-point victory over crosstown rivals Liberty Ranch Lady Hawks. It was the Lady Warriors' first Sierra Valley Conference win of the season. Gianna Stellato led Galt in scoring with 17 points. Candice Cam added 9 points, all 2nd half three-pointers. Danielle Hazlett and RaAnne Naea dominated the boards in the 2nd half with six rebounds apiece.
