North Carolina High School Basketball - Laney beaten by New Hanover

January 29, 2016: Wilmington, NC 28401

The New Hanover Wildcats ran past the visiting Laney Buccaneers basketball team by a final score of 59-45 in Friday's league game.

In their next game, the Wildcats face the South Brunswick Cougars (Southport, NC) in a Mideastern 3A/4A game, on Tuesday, February 2. New Hanover will attempt to move on its 15-5 season record. The Cougars enter the game with a 0-16 record after their 61-24 league loss to Hoggard (Wilmington, NC).

With the defeat, Laney moves to 11-9 on the year. The Buccaneers travel to Topsail (Hampstead, NC) to face the Pirates in a Mideastern 3A/4A game on Tuesday, February 2. The Pirates enter the game with a record of 12-7. Topsail won 56-50 in their recent league game against Ashley (Wilmington, NC)
