Utah High School Basketball - Westlake thwarts Lehi
February 11, 2014: Saratoga Springs, UT 84045 The Westlake Thunder (Saratoga Springs, UT) basketball knocked off the visiting Lehi Pioneers (Lehi, UT), 67-51 in Tuesday's league test.
The Thunder (8-12) will now prepare for their test against American Fork (American Fork, UT). The Cavemen go into the 5A Region 4 contest with a 11-8 record.
The Pioneers (5-14) will now prepare for their contest against Herriman (West Herriman, UT). The Mustangs enter the 5A Region 4 contest with a 10-8 record. In their last contest, Herriman ran past American Fork (American Fork, UT), 63-47, in a league contest.
First Quarter
The score at the end of the first quarter is Lehi 12 and Westlake 10. Tanner Nygren had 7 points for the Pioneers.
Second Quarter
In the second quarter, Lehi could only manage 7 points. Westlake scored 18 and the score to end the first half is Westlake 28 and Lehi 19.
Third Quarter
The teams played and almost even third quarter as Westlake outscored Lehi by 2 points and increased the lead to 11 to start the final period.
Fourth Quarter
Lehi could not overcome the Westlake lead in the fourth quarter and Westlake wins by the score of 67 to 51. Lehi was lead by Tanner Nygren with 22 points. Lehi had no answer for the Westlake big man Holker who scored a game high 24 points.
