The crowd at Friday's league contest between the Eureka Hornets (Eureka, IL) and the visiting Fieldcrest Knights (Minonk, IL), observed Eureka's football squad thwart Fieldcrest by a tally of 24-14.

The Hornets now possess a 7-1 record. They play next when they travel to Tri-Valley for a Heart of Illinois - Large contest on Friday, October 19. Eureka will play a Vikings squad coming off a 13-6 non-league win over Deer Creek-Mackinaw (Mackinaw, IL). The Vikings record now stands at 5-3.

Coming up next, the Knights play the El Paso-Gridley Titans (El Paso, IL) in a Heart of Illinois - Large contest, on Friday, October 19. Fieldcrest will attempt to advance on its 4-4 season record.
