The Avon Orioles (Avon, IN) basketball nipped the visiting Carmel Greyhounds (Carmel, IN), 71-66 in Saturday's non-league test.

The Orioles (6-1) will now prepare for their test against Northview (Brazil, IN). The Knights go into the non-league test with a 1-5 record. In their last test, Northview got by Edgewood (Ellettsville, IN), 57-55, in a league test.

The Greyhounds now own a 3-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Bloomington South for a non-league outing on Tuesday, December 21. Carmel will encounter a Panthers squad coming off a 76-73 non-league win over Jeffersonville (Jeffersonville, IN). The Panthers record now stands at 7-0.
