The Vela Sabercats basketball team scored 65 points and held the host Edinburg North Cougars to 50 in the Sabercats league triumph on Friday.

The Sabercats now sport a 25-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host Economedes for a 6A Region IV District 31 contest on Tuesday, February 12. Vela will meet a Jaguars team coming off a 48-37 league loss to Weslaco (Weslaco, TX). The Jaguars record now stands at 24-7.

The Cougars (19-16) will now prepare for their contest against Donna North (Donna, TX). The Chiefs enter the 6A Region IV District 31 contest with a 0-21 record. In their last contest, Donna North was outscored by Edinburg (Edinburg, TX), 56-37, in a league contest.
