Game Summary
Lincoln controlled most of the first half as their pressing offense and strong defense kept us pff-balance and ineffective, limiting us to just 3 shots. But they were enough, as Allie's mid-range direct kick in the 9th minute deflected off a defender's head and beyond the keeper and into the net. A flurry of close-in activity led to Liney's takedown in their box. Tony's call to Eden to take the PK was waved off by Allie, who stepped up to calmly bury the shot just seconds before the half ended. Their goal came in the 19th minute on a nice shot just below the crossbar out of Clare's reach. A second-half realignment of our side worked well, as we held the field for long stretches and limited them to just 4 more shots, 3 on goal. Our 4 second-half shots--2 on goal--did no damage.
