In Friday's non-league match, the host Decatur Eagles basketball team scored a tight 66-62 triumph over the Mexia Black Cats.

In their next game, the Eagles meet the Glen Rose Tigers (Glen Rose, TX) in a non-league match, on Tuesday, December 31. Decatur will attempt to move on its 8-4 season record. The Tigers enter the match with a 6-5 record after their 40-33 non-league loss to Palmer (Palmer, TX).
