January 18, 2011: Mantachie, MS 38855 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Mantachie Mustangs (Mantachie, MS) and the visiting Walnut Wildcats (Walnut, MS), saw Mantachie's basketball squad knock off Walnut by a score of 54-39.
With the victory, Mantachie improves its record to 9-8 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Hickory Flat (Hickory Flat, MS) to battle the Rebels in a 2A Region 1 challenge on Friday, January 21. The Rebels come into the challenge with a record of 20-6.
Next up, the Wildcats battle the Biggersville Lions (Corinth, MS) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, January 21. Walnut will attempt to improve on its 0-18 season record. The Lions come into the challenge with a 10-4 record after their 59-34 league win over Pine Grove (Ripley, MS).
