The Starmount Rams (Boonville, NC) softball routed the visiting East Wilkes Cardinals (Ronda, NC), 7-1 in Friday's league bout.

The Rams (9-7) will now prepare for their bout against North Wilkes (Hays, NC). The Vikings go into the Mountain Valley 1A/2A bout with a 9-9 record. In their last bout, North Wilkes held off Elkin (Elkin, NC), 6-3, in a league bout.

The Cardinals now possess a 13-5 record. They play next when they travel to Wilkes Central for a Mountain Valley 1A/2A bout on Tuesday, April 24. East Wilkes will confront a Eagles squad coming off a 3-2 league loss to Alleghany (Sparta, NC). The Eagles record now stands at 5-8.
