Nevada High School Baseball - Cimarron-Memorial loses to Bishop Gorman
April 10, 2009: Las Vegas, NV 89148 In Friday's non-league game, the host Bishop Gorman Gaels baseball team scored a nice 12-2 victory over the Cimarron-Memorial Spartans.
The Gaels (17-3) will now prepare for their game against Foothill (Santa Ana, CA). The Knights go into the non-league game with a 10-5 record. In their last game, Foothill overcame Riverton (Riverton, UT), 11-0, in a non-league game.
The Spartans (14-3) will now prepare for their game against Taylorsville (Taylorsville, UT). The Warriors go into the non-league game with a 3-2 record. In their last game, Taylorsville overcame Great Oak (Temecula, CA), 14-9, in a non-league game.

Erik Van Meetren and Jeff Malm slugged home runs and Stephen Manthei tossed a five-hitter as Bishop Gorman won its 15th straight game, a 12-2 win over Cimarron-Memorial in the semifinals of the Gorman Desert Classic at College of Southern Nevada Friday.
Van Meetren, a sophomore, went 4-for-4 on the day, clubbing a walk-off solo homer on the first pitch of the home half of the sixth inning.
Malm also hit a solo home run and had a pair of singles for a 3-for-4 day.
Manthei sent the six inning distance, striking out six and walking just one.
