Brenham Cubs (Brenham, TX) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting La Vernia Bears (La Vernia, TX), 51-41 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Brenham upgrades its record to 1-4 on the season. The Cubs host Cypress Lakes (Katy, TX) to play the Spartans in a non-league bout on Friday, December 10. The Spartans go into the bout with a record of 3-6.

Next up, the Bears play the Miller Buccaneers (Corpus Christi, TX) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 3. La Vernia will attempt to upgrade on its 2-8 season record.
