Highland Cougars (Ewing, MO) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Monroe City Panthers (Monroe City, MO), 62-57 in a league bout.

With the win, Highland upgrades its record to 11-7 on the season. The Cougars travel to Brookfield (Brookfield, MO) to clash with the Bulldogs in a Clarence Cannon bout on Friday, January 30. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a record of 4-15. Brookfield lost 78-61 in their recent league bout against Palmyra (Palmyra, MO)

Next up, the Panthers clash with the Marion County Mustangs (Philadelphia, MO) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 30. Monroe City will attempt to upgrade on its 9-9 season record. The Mustangs go into the bout with a 6-7 record after their 79-57 non-league win over La Plata (La Plata, MO).
