Merritt Island Mustangs (Merritt Island, FL) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Central Bears (Brooksville, FL), 65-36 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Merritt Island upgrades its record to 5-4 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Cocoa (Cocoa, FL) to play the Tigers in a 3A District 8 bout on Tuesday, January 4. The Tigers come into the bout with a record of 3-4.

Next up, the Bears play the Ridgewood Rams (New Port Richey, FL) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, January 5. Central will attempt to upgrade on its 1-8 season record.
