In Friday's non-league match, the host Marked Tree Indians football squad scored a close 27-20 victory over the Barton Bears.

In their next game, the Indians clash with the Cross County Thunderbirds (Cherry Valley, AR) in a 2A Region 3 match, on Friday, September 25. Marked Tree will attempt to move on its 2-1 season record. The Thunderbirds enter the match with a 3-0 record after their 36-7 non-league win over Westside (Jonesboro, AR).
