October 8, 2016: Ellicott City, MD 21042 The Mt. Hebron Vikings football team (Ellicott City, MD), was beaten 45-20 in Saturday's league challenge with the visiting Atholton Raiders (Columbia, MD)
The Raiders (4-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Centennial (Ellicott City, MD). The Eagles come into the Howard County challenge with a 1-5 record. In their last challenge, Centennial was beaten by Howard (Ellicott City, MD), 35-0, in a league challenge.
The Vikings now sport a 2-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Reservoir for a Howard County challenge on Friday, October 14. Mt. Hebron will meet a 'Gators team coming off a 17-13 league loss to Glenelg (Glenelg, MD). The 'Gators record now stands at 0-6.
First Quarter
The Raiders scored 21 points in the first quarter despite only having the ball for only 3 plays and two minutes of possession. They scored on a 60 yard punt return by Habib Bundu, a 99 yard kick-off return by John Heriot and a 42 yard interception return by Jason Parkins.
Second Quarter
Habib Bundu scored on a 93 yard interception return off a tipped pass and the Raiders led 28-7 at the half despite only having 4 minutes of possession in the half.
Third Quarter
The Raiders scored on a 42 yard field goal by Ben Lovera and did much better possessing the ball 5 minutes.
Fourth Quarter
The Raiders finally got their first offensive touchdown of the day on a 23 yard pass from Dominic Totoro to Jacob Waterworth with 9:38 to go in the 4th quarter. The topped off the scoring on a 25 yard fumble recovery with 2:59 to go by Reed Bunyard
