The East Ascension Spartans (Gonzales, LA) softball routed the host Mamou Demons (Mamou, LA), 7-1 in Saturday's non-league bout.

The Spartans (12-7) will now prepare for their bout against McKinley (Baton Rouge, LA). The Panthers go into the 5A District 5 bout with a 0-9 record.

The Demons now possess a 16-11 record. They play next when they travel to Pine Prairie for a 3A District 5 bout on Monday, March 26. Mamou will confront a Panthers squad coming off a 3-0 league win over Port Barre (Port Barre, LA). The Panthers record now stands at 20-3.
