December 12, 2016: Gilbert, AZ 85234 In Monday's league battle, the host Arete Prep CHARGERS soccer squad scored a close 3-2 triumph over the Arizona College Prep Knights.
The CHARGERS (3-3) will now prepare for their battle against Benjamin Franklin (Queen Creek, AZ). The Chargers come into the 3A Region 3 battle with a 2-2 record. In their last battle, Benjamin Franklin was nudged by Fountain Hills (Fountain Hills, AZ), 6-1, in a non-league battle.
The Knights (0-2) will now prepare for their battle against North Pointe Prep (Phoenix, AZ). The Falcons come into the non-league battle with a 0-4 record. In their last battle, North Pointe Prep was nudged by Glendale Prep Academy (Glendale, AZ), 7-0, in a non-league battle.
Game Summary
The ACP girls team lost 3-2 last night at Arete Prep. The Knights took a 1-0 lead into the half, but gave up 3 goals in the 2nd half. They made a comeback to cut the lead to 3-2, with about 15 minutes to play, but couldn’t get any shots to go. The two goals were scored by Maddison Smith and Koko Matsumoto.
